GKH, as one of Israel’s leading law firms in the hi-tech, corporate, securities and finance practices, as well as international M&A and investment transactions, has been actively developing a practice focused on Singapore - the commercial, financial and economic center of South East Asia and recently also a center for international dispute resolution. GKH sees the Singapore market, both in itself and as a gateway to South East Asia and the ASEAN nations, as a broad base for an interesting range of opportunities for activities of Israeli companies expanding their activities into the Asian markets as well as a range of co-operation with local entities (both government and private). In addition, Israeli companies create interesting opportunities for investments by Singaporean and South East Asian financial institutions, investment funds, family offices and private wealth.
We also see an increasing interest from Singaporean based investors in the Israeli market and in Israeli technology, as well as a potential for commercial relations between Singaporean and Israeli partners in a variety of fields, such as the medical devices and bio-med sectors, the hi-tech sector, the food and Agri-Tech industries, the financial sector and the water and energy sectors.
As a center for international dispute resolution, with institutes such as the SIAC (Singapore International Arbitration Center) and the SICC (Singapore International Commercial Court) Singapore can and should be a preferred jurisdiction for engagements between Israeli and Asian counterparts.
Led by Ran Ben-Ari, the GKH Singapore Desk has the relationships, experience, and contacts, working also alongside Enterprise Singapore, to assist our clients to achieve their Singapore-Israel cross-border goals, both for Israeli entities wishing to enter the Singaporean market and for Singaporean entities wishing to enter the Israeli market.
