Since the founding of GKH, we have been providing legal services and advice to the tax-exempt sector in Israel. GKH Tax-Exempt Organizations group represents the full range of tax-exempt organizations and their founders, donors, board members, and professional advisers, including foreign citizens and international organizations operating in Israel. Our representation includes Amutot (voluntary and charity associations), public benefit companies and other tax-exempt organizations, such as educational institutions, hospitals, newspapers, health and sports institutions, organizations for development of community real estate, family foundations, as well as professional organizations, such as the Association of Certified Public Accountants in Israel and IAI Israel (Institute of Internal Auditors in Israel). We provide comprehensive legal representation to tax-exempt organizations, including their formation, administration of activities taking into account the visions of the founders and the purposes of the organization, and ongoing representation in all areas of law, including employment law, real estate law, management of the Amuta entity according to law, litigation and representation before the regulatory bodies, such as the Amutot Registrar and tax authorities. We have accumulated significant experience and expertise in the not-for-profit sector. As part of our representation of tax-exempt organizations, we actively participate in meetings of the committees of the Knesset (Israeli parliament) relating to legislative processes concerning tax-exempt organizations, including amendments to the Amutot Law, Companies Law and tax law.
