David Hodak is the head of GKH, one of the leading corporate law firms in Israel.
David advises clients on the structure of complex commercial transactions, taxation matters and finance, both in Israel and abroad. He is a key player in designing M&A in Israel and abroad. David has led the legal representation for numerous public companies in connection with their local and international public offerings of stocks and bonds. In addition, David advises the Israeli government and governmental agencies with respect to privatization and debt financing.
David has been a key player in the high-tech arena in Israel for the past 35 years.
Following the last global crisis, David Hodak was appointed by the Israeli Ministry of Finance as the chairman of the Committee to Determine Parameters for Consideration by Institutional Investors (insurance companies, pension funds, provident funds) in the debt market (the “Hodak Committee”) in 2009. He was a member of the Israel Securities Authority Committee on the Structure and Content of Annual Reports and Prospectuses (the “Barnea Committee”) in 2001 and he served as a member of the Israel Securities Authority Committee on the Encouragement of Venture Capital in Israel of 1994 (the “Vardi Committee”). Described by “Chambers Global – The World’s Leading Lawyers” (2018) as an instantly recognizable name in Israel. Most of his time is spent managing the firm but he is still viewed as “very knowledgeable” by sources and has great capital markets and M&A experience. David Hodak has been recommended by “European Legal Experts 2010” in the fields of Banking & Finance, Capital Markets, and Corporate & M&A.
David became a partner in 1986. David worked for two years at Weil Gotshal & Manges in New York specializing in securities, mergers and acquisitions and international transactions, as well as the representation of Israeli companies overseas.

David leads the GKH China practice and has developed excellent working relationships in China and Hong Kong. As the head of our China desk, David advised over the years many large M&A deals between Israeli and Chinese companies.
David served as a lieutenant colonel in the Armored Corps of the Israeli Defense Forces.
