Who We Are

Gross & Co. has been accompanying the activity of the social sector in Israel for many years. The Social Sector practice provides counsel to non-profit organizations, public benefit companies, and other tax-exempt organizations.

Our Experience

The team has accumulated a great deal of experience, knowledge, and expertise over the years. It provides comprehensive legal guidance, which includes both regulatory treatment – from the establishment of a non-profit organization (“Amutot” – associations, public benefit companies or funds), regulating its activities while emphasizing the founders’ considerations and the purpose of establishing the entity, through ongoing activity of organizations’ leasing or purchasing real estate, managing the association in accordance with the provisions of the law, accompanying the entities and representing them before authorities – the Registrar of Associations, the tax authorities and the courts.

The department accompanies clients in Knesset (Israeli parliament) sessions and participates in legislative proceedings concerning the activities of non-profit bodies, including amendments to the Associations (Amutot) Law, the Companies Law, and Tax law in Israel.

Our firm has a wide range of clients: educational, cultural, journalistic, health and sports institutions, organizations from various sectors, including religious institutions, Organizations for purposes such as the development of real estate for community purposes, museums, and more.

The team represents entities and their personnel, related entities, social businesses, service providers for the social sector – such as accountants and impact investing firms.

A unique aspect of the department’s activities is the representation of donors, founders and philanthropists in Israel and abroad in their activity in Israel.
